Meraki Quartet–Sunday, June 2

This concert is sold out, but you can add yourself to the waiting list on the Reservations page.

The Meraki Quartet formed right here in Berkeley in 2016 through the Crowden Music Center’s Youth Chamber Music Program. The members of the quartet are now in high school, but don’t let their youth throw you off. This group of talented young women–violinists Sofia Matthews and Jun Yong Liu, violist Anna Renton and cellist Isabelle Nichols–is already well on its way.  In 2017, the quartet was awarded the Jane Galante Prize at the Yehudi Menuhin Chamber Music Seminar. They’ve appeared on NPR’s From the Top with Christopher O’Riley, performed in San Francisco with the Alexander String Quartet, opened for the St. Lawrence String Quartet, and earlier this month the quartet was awarded the Bronze Medal at the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

You can check out their From the Top performance and interview here.

At Fifth Street they’ll play:

Mozart – String Quartet K. 575
Debussy – String Quartet in G, Op. 10
Price – “Felipe” for String Quartet

Join us for this opportunity to see an amazing local quartet with a bright future. You’ll be able to say you knew them when…
